About this item
The Accentra (Yale) 2110F is a fire-rated surface vertical rod exit device for door openings from 30 inches to 36 inches wide, certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Type 2, Grade 1 and listed as fire exit hardware for 8-foot by 8-foot pairs in 3-hour fire-rated assemblies. Also referenced as the 2110F, 2110F-689, 2110F-630, and 2110F-689-36, the device is handed and field reversible. Sex nuts and bolts are supplied as standard for fire exit hardware applications. Standard door height is 7 feet, with optional rod extensions available for taller openings. SKU: 2110F-36.
What distinguishes the 2110F fire exit hardware listing from the standard 2110
The 2110 and 2110F are both surface vertical rod exit devices at ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Type 2, Grade 1 for 30-to-36-inch door openings. The difference is the fire exit hardware listing. The standard 2110 is listed for use on fire-labeled door assemblies. The 2110F carries the fire exit hardware designation specifically, which is required on fire door assemblies where the authority having jurisdiction or the NFPA 80 specification calls for fire exit hardware rather than fire-rated panic hardware.
The 2110F fire exit hardware listing covers 8-foot by 8-foot pair assemblies at a 3-hour fire rating. Note that unlike the 2100F rim exit device, the 2110F SVR listing does not include a 4-foot by 8-foot single door listing — it covers pairs only. When a 3-hour fire-rated opening requires a single door with fire exit hardware, the appropriate rim or other device type should be confirmed with the authority having jurisdiction. For the non-fire-exit-hardware surface vertical rod version, the Accentra Yale 2110 surface vertical rod exit device is also stocked. For the fire exit hardware rim exit device for single door applications, the Accentra Yale 2100F fire rated rim exit device 36-inch is available.
Door height options and rod extension compatibility on the 2110F
The 2110F installs on standard door heights of 7 feet, with the device centerline positioned at 39-15/16 inches from the floor. This is the factory-standard configuration for the 36-inch bar length. For taller door openings, rod extensions are available to accommodate door heights up to 8 feet for fire exit hardware applications and up to 10 feet for panic hardware applications. The rod extensions extend the vertical rod length from the device body to reach the top strike at the taller frame height.
Confirm the door opening height and whether rod extensions are required before ordering. The standard device without rod extensions covers 7-foot door heights only. For doors outside the standard height, the correct rod extension part number should be specified at the time of ordering.
How the deadlocking SVR mechanism and rollback feature work on the 2110F
The 2110F uses the same mechanism as the standard 2110: a deadlocking top pullman bolt with positive action linkage and a simultaneous direct pull bottom bolt. Depressing the pushbar retracts both the top and bottom bolts simultaneously in a single push action. The deadlocking top bolt resists retraction by shimming, vibration, or lateral pressure when the door is in the latched position.
The rollback feature keeps both bolts fully retracted when the device is in the unlatched position until the door is physically closed. This prevents the top or bottom bolt from partially engaging the strike as the door swings back through the closing arc, which is particularly relevant on fire-rated pair assemblies where both bolts must engage their respective top and bottom strikes cleanly to maintain the fire barrier. Sex nuts and bolts are included as standard for fire exit hardware fastening requirements. For the complete Accentra exit device range, browse the Accentra exit devices catalog. For other commercial hardware, the builders hardware section and the commercial locks catalog cover the full range.
Handed (field reversible). Confirm fire exit hardware listing is required and door assembly is pairs. Also referenced as: 2110F-689-36, 2110F-630-36. Sex nuts and bolts included.
