The 7104 uses a spring-loaded latchbolt with a lever handle on the interior - the lever retracts the latch for egress without requiring the combination. The 7108 combines both a lever handle and a deadbolt in one unit. This latch bolt assembly - part 54444-03-01 - is specifically for the 7104 model.

If your Simplex lock has an interior lever that retracts a spring latch when you turn it, this is the correct assembly. If your lock has an interior thumbturn operating a deadbolt, that is the 7102 model and requires the 7102 deadbolt assembly.
