Delayed action extends the closing cycle, keeping the door open longer after the opening force is released to allow unobstructed passage through the opening. This is specified on doors with high pedestrian throughput, accessible entrances, or any opening where a standard closing speed creates a pinch hazard for slower-moving occupants.
