Falcon W511 Grade 2 Entry/Office Lock

The Falcon W511 is the entry/office function in the Falcon W Series Grade 2 cylindrical lever lock platform, built to ANSI function F109. It provides two distinct outside lever locking modes through the same inside push button, a deadlocking latchbolt operated by lever from both sides, and key-controlled outside unlocking. Non-handed with no field disassembly required for re-handing. Certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Series 4000 Grade 2 and UL listed for 3-hour A label fire door assemblies. Designed for low to medium traffic office, government, retail, industrial, and multi-family applications.

What makes ANSI F109 entry/office function different from other entry functions

The W511 offers two separate push button behaviors from the single inside button, which is what separates F109 entry/office function from a standard F82 entry function. The first mode is push-and-turn: when the inside button is both pushed and turned simultaneously, the outside lever locks and stays locked until a key is used from outside or the button is manually turned back from inside. Closing the door alone does not release this mode. This is the correct configuration for locking an office at the end of the day when the occupant is leaving and wants the outside lever secured until re-entry by key.

The second mode is push-only: when the inside button is pushed without turning, the outside lever locks until the door is opened, the button is manually released from inside, or a key is used from outside. This mode automatically releases when the door opens, which makes it the right choice for occupied-room privacy where the occupant wants the outside lever locked during the visit but the door to reset automatically on exit. The inside lever is always free in both modes and releases the push button simultaneously when rotated. These two behaviors from one lock are why F109 is specified over simpler functions in office and multi-tenant environments.

Cylinder, keyway, and keying options on the W511

The W511 ships with a conventional cylinder in the Falcon G keyway as the standard configuration. Schlage C keyway is available as an option for facilities already running Schlage-keyed hardware. Lever styles, finishes, rose options, and installation specs

Seven lever styles are available on the W511: Avalon (AVA), Dane (DAN), Quantum (QUA), Boardwalk (BRK), Broadway (BRW), Latitude (LAT), and Longitude (LON). All are solid pressure-cast zinc with no inserts, ADA compliant, and finished to match the mating trim. Dane and Quantum levers are available with an abrasive strip for hazardous area identification in required environments. Six finishes are offered: 613 oil rubbed bronze, 619 satin nickel, 622 flat black, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, and 643E aged bronze.

Two rose sizes are available: the standard 3-3/8" rose and the small 2-9/16" rose. Both are wrought brass or bronze over steel through-bolted rose inserts. The standard rose accepts 2-3/4" and 2-3/8" backsets. The small rose is available with 2-3/4" backset only. Door thickness is 1-3/8" to 1-3/4".
