About this item
The Accentra (Yale) 1802 is the standard conventional lever cylinder for the Yale 5400LN, 5300LN, 6400LN, and inTouch lever lock series, and for the 440F, 540F, and 580F trim lines. Also cataloged as the Yale 1802 before the Accentra rebrand, this cylinder drops directly into the lever housing of these widely deployed commercial locksets. It is a conventional pin cylinder with a fixed core that pins in place rather than accepting a removable interchangeable core. Multiple keyways and finishes are available. SKU: 1802.
What the 1802 lever cylinder is and which lockset series it fits without a sleeve
The 1802 is a key-in-lever cylinder, a format specific to lever locksets where the cylinder seats inside the lever housing and is turned by the key to operate the locking mechanism. This is different from rim, mortise, or knob cylinder formats. The 1802 is the correct cylinder for the following Yale and Accentra series without any additional hardware: 5400LN heavy-duty lever locks, 6400LN lever locks, inTouch lever locks, 540F Series trim, and 580F Series trim. For these applications, the 1802 installs directly.
The 1802 is a conventional cylinder. It cannot accept a removable interchangeable core. Applications requiring IC core key control need a different cylinder model. If the existing Yale or Accentra lever lock is in any of the series listed above and needs a replacement or a differently-keyed cylinder, the 1802 is the correct part. For key blanks compatible with the 1802 keyways, the key blanks catalog covers the available options.
Which series require sleeve part 14-5305-9078-999 when using the 1802 cylinder
For the following series, the 1802 cylinder requires sleeve part number 14-5305-9078-999 to seat correctly in the lever housing: 4700LN Series lever locks, 5300LN Series lever locks, inTouch trim, and 440F Series trim. Without the sleeve installed, the 1802 cylinder will not seat properly in these housings. This is the most common installation error on this product.
If the 1802 is being installed in a 5300LN or 4700LN lock and the fit does not feel correct, the sleeve is almost certainly missing. Confirm the specific lockset series before ordering and determine whether the sleeve is already present in the existing installation. The sleeve is a separate part and must be ordered if it is not already installed. For cylinders, cores, and cylinder components across the full range, the cylinders, cores, and keys section covers the available options.
1802 vs 1801: lever format vs knob format in the 5300 and 5400 Series
The 1802 and 1801 serve different product formats within the same Yale lock series. The 1801 is the standard cylinder for 5300 and 5400 Series knob locks and 540F knob trim. The 1802 is the standard cylinder for lever versions of those same series. The LN designation in the lockset model number (5400LN, 5300LN, 6400LN) confirms the lever format. A model number without LN is the knob format.
Ordering the 1801 for a lever lock or the 1802 for a knob lock is the most common error on both products. Confirm whether the existing lock carries an LN designation before selecting the cylinder. For the knob cylinder version, the Accentra Yale 1801 knob cylinder is also stocked. For Accentra lever locks across all series and configurations, the Accentra lever locks catalog is available for reference.
