About this item
The Cal-Royal ICSCCRB800 is a Grade 1 single cylinder deadbolt engineered for commercial door openings where a Schlage Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) master key system is in use. It accepts a Schlage LFIC core in place of the standard cylinder, allowing the deadbolt to integrate directly into an existing Schlage LFIC keying program without rekeying or replacing the entire lock. The core is not included and must be ordered separately. The deadbolt meets or exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.5 Grade 1 requirements and is UL listed for 3-hour fire-rated applications.
What Schlage LFIC means and why it matters for this deadbolt
Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) is Schlage's proprietary interchangeable core platform. It operates on the same principle as other IC systems: a core that drops in and out of the housing using a control key, without disassembling the lock. The difference between LFIC and Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) is the physical size of the core itself. LFIC uses a larger core format that's specific to Schlage and not cross-compatible with SFIC cores from other manufacturers. The ICSCCRB800 is specifically prepped for the Schlage LFIC format.
For facilities already running a Schlage LFIC master key system across levers, mortise locks, and cylindrical hardware, adding this deadbolt to the same opening keeps all keying under one program. Building managers can assign the deadbolt to an existing keyway tier, rekey it through the same control key without a locksmith, and maintain a single key control structure across the entire building. For the broader range of interchangeable core housing options compatible with various IC systems, the IC housings category covers additional configurations. Grade 1 construction and forced-entry resistance features
The ICSCCRB800 delivers Grade 1 security through a combination of structural and mechanical features working together. The 1" throw bolt includes a 1/4" free-spinning anti-cut-through pin that prevents a saw blade from cutting through the bolt by spinning under the blade rather than being severed. The cylinder recesses into the door body to resist blows aimed at snapping or driving the lock inward. A free-turning, wrench-resistant tapered cylinder ring protects the cylinder from gripping attacks. The all-steel latch case and steel mounting plate give the mechanism structural integrity behind the trim.
Three-inch screws with a wood frame reinforcer ship standard with the ICSCCRB800, addressing the frame as the most common forced-entry failure point. A deadbolt with a Grade 1 bolt is only as strong as the frame it latches into, and the longer screws reach past the door jamb material into the framing studs behind it. The ADA ergonomic thumbturn on the inside provides compliant egress without additional hardware modifications.
Installation specifications and available finishes
The ICSCCRB800 adjusts for door thicknesses from 1-1/2" to 2", covering the standard range for commercial hollow metal and solid wood doors. Standard backset is 2-3/4" and a 2-3/8" backset is available at additional cost. Bore requirements are 1" for the latch tube and 2-1/8" for the lock housing. The faceplate is 2-1/4" x 1-1/8" standard and the square corner strike measures 1-1/8" x 2-3/4". Available finishes are US26D satin chrome, US3 bright brass, US4 satin brass, US26 bright chrome, US10 satin bronze, and US10B oil rubbed bronze. Confirm your Schlage LFIC core size and keyway before ordering. The ICSCCRB800 ships less core. The core must be specified and ordered separately to complete the lock assembly.
