How the Double-Sided Pushbutton Lock Works

Each side of the door accepts an independent combination code. Users on the outside enter their 5-digit (up to 13-position) combination, the lock disengages, and the door opens. The inside side operates the same way with its own separate code, so egress requires authentication just like entry. The key override on each side is for lockout recovery, forgotten combinations, and emergency access. Because the lock is 100% mechanical, it never requires power, never loses programming, and never fails due to dead batteries. Combinations are changed on-site without opening the lock or removing the door hardware. The 3-hour UL fire rating keeps it compliant on A-labeled fire doors.
